I know that I typically refrain from excessively short posts, but this article caused me a serious amount of distress. Can this be true? Isn't everything that rock stands for inherently opposite everything that Republicanism stands for? Libertarianism I can see, but Republican rockers???

At the core of the Republican party there remains a group of people 1) who believe the establishment is broken and not to be trusted and 2) who are fiercely independent... both principles that fit rock and roll, and especially the early years of rock, to a tee. Much of what the Republican politicians push is anathema to this core group of party faithful, thus the widespread lack of enthusiasm for the GOP's primary candidates in this current Presidential cycle.
